Alcove: Intimate Essays on Arab Modernist Artists Volume 2 is a compilation of articles narrated by the relatives, friends, or students of Arab modernist artists. Like its predecessor launched in March 2025, the essays are at once an intimate portrayal and recollection and celebrate the lives, careers, and personas of some of the region’s pioneering artists. Featuring archival material and images of artworks as well as of the artists themselves, the essays and corresponding visuals span the 1950s-1980s.
